Chapter 3: Workshops & Your Work in the World
What is the fire in your belly? The fire in my belly is the deep desire to serve others. It is what fuels my purpose and gives me joy. I feel most alive when I am contributing to someone else’s growth, healing, or encouragement.
What breaks your heart? What breaks my heart is seeing people suffer under the weight of hopelessness. It hurts to watch someone believe that their situation will never change, that they are too broken, or that they don’t matter. Knowing that people carry invisible pain and yet feel they have no way forward pushes me to remind them that there is always hope.
Where in your life are you already fulfilling your calling? I am already walking in my calling through the ways I serve in my church and community. Whether through ministry, outreach, or simply showing up to encourage others. Each interaction is a chance to live out what I believe.
Who am I called to serve? I am called to serve people in the world who are in need of encouragement, guidance, and support. My heart is drawn toward those who are hurting, overlooked, or uncertain about their value.
What do these people have in common? The common thread among them is their need for support, hope, and something to believe in. They may not all share the same background, circumstances, or challenges, but they share the experience of needing someone to remind them they are not alone and that their life still has purpose.
What are the challenges? One of the greatest challenges is reaching people who don’t yet realize they need help. Some may resist support out of pride, fear, or mistrust. Others may be so weighed down by their struggles that they’ve stopped looking for a way out. The challenge is learning how to meet them where they are and build trust.
